Obituary - Lorraine Caroline Hinkle

Lorraine Caroline Hinkle, 96, passed away July 14, 2017 at the Care and Comfort Home in Havre.

Her memorial service will be held at Highland Cemetery at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 18, 2017. Gathering for family and friends will follow the service at the Havre Eagles Cub.

Lorraine was born Oct. 23, 1921, in Kalispell, Montana, to Leonard and Carrie (Jess) Christianson. The family moved to Havre where Lorraine attended Havre Public Schools. She worked as a cook and waitress in Havre for many years.

Lorraine was married to Warren Lumsden in 1939. Four sons were born to their union. They later divorced. She then married Elijah "Al" Cash in 1943. Two sons were born to that union. Following their divorce, she married Robert "Bob" Hinkle in 1951. One daughter was born to that union. Lorraine and Bob divorced in 1971.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Frank, David and Leonard; and sisters, Dolly and Mary. She was also preceded in death by her infant son, Darrel Lumsden, and children, William "Bill" Hinkle, Marcus Hinkle and Barbara Grey. Also preceding her in death were grandsons, Dennis Hinkle Jr. and Robert Hinkle.

She is survived by her sons Warren (Karen) Lumsden of Grapeview, Washington, Raymond (Pat) Lumsden of Twain Harte, California, and Dennis (Linda) Hinkle of Havre, Montana; 16 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

Lorraine resided at the Care and Comfort Home for the last six years of her life. The family extends a very special thank you to April and her staff for their TLC during this time.
