The Havre-Hill County Public Library is inviting people to once again come and browse books, movies and music during the annual Friends of the Library Book Sale, held each year during the week of Festival Days.

The book sale starts Thursday and runs through Sunday.

“We have a huge variety of used books for $1 per bag, and new books are $1 per book,” library Director Rachel Rawn said. “We also have movies and audiobooks. If you’re looking for your favorite old VHS tape or cassette, stop by and see if we have it for sale. We even have some old LPs.”

The Book Sale will be open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday and noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The Friends of the Library is a support organization for the Havre-Hill County Library. People who are interested in helping out at the library should consider joining the Friends, Rawn said.

The group’s primary mission is raising funds in support of library programming including the Summer Reading Program and the Winter Reading Series. The Friends also pay for concerts and other events that the library holds, ensuring that the programs are free to the public.

The Friends raise money through the annual book sale and the Valentine’s Day Pie Social every year.

The Friends of the Library meet third Thursdays in the library meeting room at noon.

“The October meeting is our annual membership meeting where we collect dues and eat pizza, and it’s a great time to join the Friends,” Rawn said.
