Obituary - George "Francis" Cartwright

Francis Cartwright, 76, passed away Aug. 7, 2017, at a Great Falls hospital of natural causes.

He was born Nov. 13, 1940, in Rolla, North Dakota, to Joseph and Mary (McMaster) Cartwright. He attended schools in North Dakota, graduating from New Town High in 1959.

Francis came to Havre in 1959; he spent most of his life in Havre, except for a few years in Washington. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and tinkering around on things. He spent a lot of time at the senior center dancing, playing pool and cards, giving everyone a "bad time."

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. He is survived by his five children, grandchildren, two brothers, one sister, one uncle, one aunt and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

One of his fondest childhood memories was walking the trapline with his dad and brother.

As was his wish, his ashes will be placed with his dad in North Dakota.
