Obituary: Carole Marie Espeseth

Carole Marie Espeseth of Havre, 87, passed away Sept. 18, 2017, at Northern Montana Care Center due to natural causes.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, at 10 a.m. at the Northern Montana Care Center Grace Chapel with burial to follow at Highland Cemetery.

Memorials in Carole's name may be made to the North Central Senior Citizen's Center, 2 Second St. W., Havre, MT 59501, or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Carole was born Dec. 11, 1929, to Merrill and Myrtle (Stockton) Wilson in Glasgow. She was raised and attended school in Malta, graduating from Malta High School in 1947. She then moved to Great Falls to study at the Columbus School of Nursing and graduated as registered nurse in 1951.

Feb. 6, 1952, Carole Wilson married John Espeseth in Glasgow, and they had three children, James "Jimmy," Linda and Janet. The couple moved to Havre in 1960 to raise their family. Carole began working at the Sacred Heart Hospital in 1966 and continued until her retirement in 1981 from Northern Montana Hospital.

Carole was an avid sports fan and would watch basketball, baseball, and football. Her favorite teams were the Chicago Cubs and the Seattle Seahawks. She was involved in the Eagle's Auxiliary and the VFW Women's Auxiliary for many years as well as being a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church. Baking was her specialty and she would spoil those she loved with Sandebakkels and Pecan Tassies.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, John; brother, Alan Wilson; and daughter and son-in-law Linda and Henry Davis.

Carole is survived by her son, James "Jimmy" Espeseth of Valier; daughter, Janet (Keith) Nordrum of Havre; brother, Calvin (Sharon) Wilson of Minneapolis; sister-in-law, Marge Wilson of Glasgow; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren and one on the way.
