Obituary - Vivienne F. Deming Kimball Brainard

Vivienne F. Deming Kimball Brainard, 94, passed away Sept. 21, 2017, at Sweet Memorial Nursing Home in Chinook, Montana.

Vivienne was born March 20, 1923, Harlem, Montana, to Raymond W. and Ada May Deming. She attended Chinook High School. After high school she married William H. Kimball Nov. 2, 1940. He passed away in 1973. Then Vivienne married Richard Brainard August 19th 1979

Vivienne was a lifelong resident of Montana, growing up in Turner, Montana, and then moved to Chinook. She also lived in Tacoma, Washington for a short time before WWII, then back to Chinook.

She and her husband owned the Cozy Corner for eight years after WWII. Then they owned Kimball's Conoco until 1973, owned and managed the Chinook Hotel from 1964 until 1974. She moved to Great Falls where she worked for the School for Deaf and Blind in 1974. A couple years later she returned to Chinook and worked at the Blaine County Treasurer's Office until she retired in 1985. She was always a hard worker.

Vivienne was a lifelong active member of the Chinook Presbyterian Church and was active in the community in Cub Scouts as a den mother, Brownies as a scout leader, VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries, and was matron of Eastern Star.

She loved to travel and see new places, she was an avid reader until she lost her eyesight. She loved to dance on a Saturday night, loved to watch her children and grandchildren in sports and other activities. She liked to look good, always dressed well and loved to get her nails done.

She is survived by her sons, Herbert (Bonnie) Kimball of Polson, William (Peggy) Kimball Jr. of Billings, and Ted (Laurie) Kimball of Renton, Washington; faughters, Katherine (Steven) Crabb of Brookland, Arizona, and Patricia (Kenneth) Saatjian of Bozeman; her grandchildren, Douglas Kimball, Robert Kimball, Scott Kimball, Brad Kimball, Kari Johnshoy, Julie Kisling, Jim Crabb, Amy Bailey, Charles Saatjian, Ryan Fowler, Robby Gardipee and Ashton Kimball, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sisters-in-law Lorraine Deming and Lola Deming and numerous nieces and nephews.

Vivienne is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands and siblings, Curt Deming, Hank Deming, Bob Deming, Fannie McKay, Billie Lou Smith.

Funeral services will be held Oct. 4, 2017, at the Chinook Presbyterian Church on 437 Indiana St Chinook, MT at 1pm. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Sweet Memorial Nursing Home.

Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Edwards Funeral Home.
