Obituary - Dwayne Turner Sr.

Dwayne Turner Sr., 71, passed away peacefully at his home in Havre, Montana, the morning of Oct. 9, 2017, after losing his battle with stage four lung cancer.

Dwayne was born April 4, 1946, to Vernon Ray Turner and Helen Josephine Sartain in Fallsville, Arkansas. As a young boy, he lived in different states such as Pennsylvania and Missouri, then as a teenager he settled in California, where he later met and fell in love with Sharol Rea Dodson. The two were married Aug. 23, 1980, in Reno, Nevada. They later were blessed with three children.

Dwayne loved the outdoors where he could hunt but mostly he loved to go fishing. He liked spending time with his family weather it was a holiday get together, fishing trip or just a day at the lake. He was a collector and had a few collections such as coins, stamps, pocket watches and knives. Dwayne was a loving father and grandfather who will be dearly missed by many.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Helen; his wife, Sharol, and his grandparents.

Dwayne is survived by his daughter Helen Brown, son-in-law, Bryan Brown, grandson, Ryan Brown, and granddaughter, Shyanne Brown, of Rio Linda, California; his daughter Alice (Rose) Turner, son-in-law, Damien Espejel, granddaughters Aliyah Espejel and Jasmine-Rose Espejel, and grandsons Michael and Anthony Hibbs and Damien Espejel of Havre, Montana; his son Dwayne Turner Jr., daughter-in-law Allie Maestas, grandsons Liem Turner, Clay Turner and Clint Turner of Ronan, Montana; Rose's childhood friend and Dwayne's adopted daughter Desiree Moore and her family of Citrus Heights, California; brothers, Bob, Rick, and Steve and their families, of Missouri, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Dwayne's wishes were to be cremated.

The family will have a memorial at a later date when everyone can be together.
