Bullhook Community Health Center is offering a class to local residents to help them learn to be better parents.

The parenting class offered at Bullhook, presented by Licensed Clinical Social Worker Lindsey Reichelt, starts Wednesday in the Jon Tester Conference Room and runs from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m, and continues for a total of eight weeks, also being held Nov. 1, 8, 15 and 29 and Dec. 6, 13 and 20.

People signing up must attend every session, which cost $43 a week with many insurance policies covering the cost.

“At times, all parents feel lost or without a clue about what our child might need from us,” a press release about the class said. “Imagine what it might feel like if you were able to make sense of what your child was really asking from you. The Circle of Security® Parenting™ program is based on decades of research about how secure parent-child relationships can be supported and strengthened.”

The release said anyone wanting to learn new and effective ways to parent their children should attend, and Child and Protective Services clients are welcome.

The learning objectives of the training are

• Understand your child’s emotional world by learning to read the emotional needs

• Support your child’s ability to successfully manage emotions

• Enhance the development of your child’s self esteem

• Honor your innate wisdom and desire for your child to be secure
