Letter to the Editor - Ratliff will put unity in community

Editor,

I’ve known Lindsey Ratliff for a few years, being a student at Havre High. It’s not everyday you get to work with an educator who works so well with students, and has tangible passion for the subjects she teaches.

When I went with the CloseUp program to Washington, D.C., for the inauguration early this year, she was the coordinator who worked long hours with the other students and I to fundraise, get the word out and have the best experience possible.

Now, Mrs. Ratliff is running for City Council, and I can say with 100 percent certainty that she is perfect for the job. Lindsey Ratliff is a powerful woman who believes intensely in her values and will not betray them. She will work with and for the people of Havre to make our home a better place. Though she has firm beliefs, I’ve known her to work and collaborate pleasantly with those of oppositional viewpoints, because she sees that our differences do not have to divide us, but are sources of debate and knowledge-sharing.

I wholeheartedly encourage anyone reading this to vote for her in the upcoming election, as I know she will do everything within her power to put the unity in community.

Sincerely,

Caroline Tuss

Havre
