Ballots due in clerk and recorders' Tuesday evening

Voters in Havre and Chinook city elections will have until 8 p.m Tuesday to turn in their completed ballots

City elections are conducted by mail ballot only.

Voters on the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation have until 8 p.m. Tuesday to get to their polling places and vote.

Other local elections in Big Sandy, Chester, Harlem and Hingham have no contested races and the candidates will be elected by acclamation with no ballots mailed out

Havre voters can drop off their ballots between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m Tuesday at the Hill County Clerk and Recorder Office in the Hill County Courthouse.

Late registration ended today at noon, but re-opens Tuesday morning. A person who is not registered to vote or who did not receive a ballot because they have moved can register and receive a ballot which must be filled out in the clerk and recorder’s office between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. Tuesday.

City elections will coincide with tribal elections on Fort Belknap Indian Reservation.

Maurice “Gail” Adams, Chief Judge of the Fort Belknap Election Administration, said polling places will be at Chief Nosey Center and John Capture Center in Hays, Watthatau Center in Dodson and Red Whip Center at the agency. Polling places, he said, will be open 8 a.m to 8 p.m Tuesday.

Absentee voters can return or vote in person today 8 a.m. to 5 p.m at Red Whip Center.
