Obituary - Harry E. Friede

Longtime Chinook resident Harry E. Friede passed away at home from natural causes Oct. 21, 2017.

A celebration of his life will be held Nov. 15, 2017, which would have been his 86th birthday, at the Chinook Senior Citizen Center from 2 to 4 p.m.

Harry was born Nov. 15, 1931, to Otto and Mary Friede. He was raised on the family farm, graduating from Chinook High School.

In May 1957, Harry married Julia Nesslar, enjoying 60 years of marriage together while raising a family and farming in the Paradise Valley. During those years, Harry also worked at the GTA Elevator in Chinook, retiring in 1993.

Harry enjoyed farming, puttering in his shop, building/repairing things, working in the yard/garden, keeping track of the weather, going for drives along with feeding the birds and throwing the ball for his dog Nappy. He enjoyed early morning coffee at the Senior Center with friends and was always up for visits from his grandchildren. In the last year, Harry became quite the artist spending hours creating colorful posters to help pass the time.

Harry is survived by his wife, Julia; children, Dottie (Tim) Dwyer, Penny (Brett) Noland, Kent, Jay (Penny) and Kevin; and granddaughter Ashley, along with 12 additional grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is survived by one brother, Glenn (Lynette).

He was preceded in death by his parents and 10 siblings.

Arrangements are entrusted to Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook.

Memorials are suggested to Paws of Chinook.
