Hill County 4-H Member places second in state competition

BILLINGS - During the Northern Ag Network Luncheon at the Montana Stockgrower Association's Annual Convention and Tradeshow, Hill County 4-H'er and 4-H Ambassador Sydney O'Neil was announced as the second-place winner in the state for the Montana Steer of Merit competition.

Chad Murnin of Bar Star Cattle of Loma was O'Neil's steer breeder.

Thirty-eight counties and one reservation participated in the Steer of Merit Carcass Division Competition. There was a total of 762 entries and 91 of those entries received Steer of Merit awards.

O'Neil is one of two 4-H Hill County Ambassadors. She is on her 12th year of being involved in the Hill County 4-H program. She is a strong leader not only in 4-H, but also in her community. She is also involved in the 4-H Hill County Interstate Exchange Program.
