Obituary - David W. "Snip" Healy

David W. "Snip" Healy, 67, passed away due to natural causes Thursday, December 21, 2017, at his residence in Big Warm.

Wake services will begin at 5:00 p.m. today, Tuesday, Dec. 26, and will continue until his funeral service, which will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017, all at the Enemy Killer Center in Lodge Pole. Burial will follow in the Ghost Hill Cemetery.

Holland and Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Snip was born June 27, 1950, in Fort Belknap to William "Bud" and Dolores (Brisbo) Healy. He was raised in Big Warm, attending school in Hays. Snip graduated from Hays Mission High School in 1970, and went on to attend college. While in his younger years, he was a bronc rider, and during his lifetime, he broke many, many horses.

Over the years, Snip worked on various ranches and oil rigs; and he retired as a police officer with Fort Belknap Law Enforcement. He was quite an artist, painting pictures, drawing, and making sculptures, together with beading and tanning hides. He loved his horses, dogs, and cats.

Snip was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Dolores Healy; his brothers Marvin, Ron, Chopper, Chick, and James Healy; his sisters Arlene Healy-Morin, Annette Fox, and Alice Walker; his granddaughters Anne Marie LaMere and Angela Bross; and his nephew Thomas G. Healy-Berger.

He is survived by his daughters, Marsha Cochran, Shawn (Gustavo) Drago, all of Fort Belknap, and Belynda (Isaiah) Hayes and Skye Gopher, both of Great Falls; his sons, David "Beebs" Healy, Jr. of Havre, Ira (Coleen Hickey) Healy of Maryland and Lou Healy of Virginia; his grandchildren Richard Doney, Rian Gopher, Alejandra and Harmony Solis, Blue Skye DeCoteau and Kewadin Hayes, Taelawna Healy, Alexandro and Robert Drago, Curtis Cochran, Levi, Stephanie, Patrick, Jasper, and WinterRose LaMere, and Nahimana Healy; his sisters, Camie Doney of Hays, Audrey (Neal) Clayborn, Elaine (Henry) Healy-Valdez, Francene Brockie, and Terri (Shawn) Frey, all of Havre, Debra (JoeBoy) Morsette of Rocky Boy, and Barbara Healy of Idaho; brother Wayne Healy of Fort Belknap; adopted brother Joe Azure of Havre; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews that he loved dearly.
