    Havre Daily News staff The Hill County Commission is seeking applicants for two county boards. Press releases say the commission is seeking to fill a position on the Hill County Park Board held by Dave Wilson, who is resigning from the board. He started on the board in 1998. It also is seeking to fill a slot on the Great Northern Fair Board formerly held by Missy Boucher, who joined the board in 2009.     Garrick Allan Ferguson was arrested Tuesday afternoon and is accused of breaking into a Beaver Creek Park cabin and stealing a flat screen TV and a miter saw. Ferguson is charged with felony burglary, felony theft and misdemeanor criminal mischief. Court charging documents say a deputy with the Hill County Sheriff’s Office responded Dec. 8 to a burglary call of a Beaver Creek Park cabin.   • Local man sentenced to probation for stabbing brother

    Jesse A. Salmonson of Havre was sentenced to five years probation Monday in state District Court in Havre for stabbing his brother during a 2015 New Year's Eve fight. State District Judge Dan Boucher imposed on Salmonson a five-year deferred imposition of sentence for a felony charge of assault with a weapon and ordered him to pay $500 on assigned counsel within three years.     Havre Public Schools Superintendent Andy Carlson said this morning that he is optimistic that by the end of the month a day care for school district employees will be up and running full swing. Only one major roadblock remains in the way. “We’re just waiting on approval from the state,” Carlson said.     Daryl Wright II narrowly prevailed over eight challengers in Tuesday’s special election on Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation for an open seat on the Chippewa Cree Business Committee.
