HELENA (AP) — The Little Shell Band of Chippewa Indians is moving closer to the federal recognition it has sought for 35 years. The U.S. Senate Indian Affairs Committee approved legislation Wednesday that would recognize the tribe. The bill sponsored by Montana Sen. Jon Tester and co-sponsored by Sen. Business owner Hunter Burns pleaded guilty for himself and for his business to a charge of filing a false claim against a federally funded project. The days of over-the-air television are alive again in Havre. KRTV Channel 3 in Great Falls says it is now providing "high quality digital signal to the area." The digital translator on Cement Hill north of Havre began televising KRTV's signal last week. People living 20 miles north, west and east of Havre should be able to get the signal, said Marlowe Rames, the station's chief engineer. Rames said he recommends a rooftop antenna for the best reception, but in many cases, old-fashioned rabbit ears on the TV set can work....

Along with warnings of delays in grain sales, increased traffic on the BNSF Railway tracks along the Hi-Line are causing changes to passenger rail service. Amtrak has set a new schedule for the Empire Builder that runs along the Hi-Line effective April 15, with the hope of reducing delays.
