  • Candidate filing for 2020 election starting to pick up

    Tim Leeds|Updated Jan 15, 2020

Editor's note: This version corrects misreporting that the Hill County sheriff position is up for election. That office is not up for election this year. An election year that was hotly contested before candidate filing even began is starting to see more people file to run for office on the state and federal level, although many declared candidates still have not filed and filings on the county level still are slim locally. No one had filed as a candidate for Montana governor...

  • Change is the only constant

    Updated Jan 15, 2020

There is something to be said for consistency, and there is also something to be said for change. A great quote from Rear Adm. Grace Hopper is “The most dangerous phrase in the language is ‘We’ve always done it this way.” During my past career, in product design, companies used the phrase “evolve or die.” Change is important, and yet there is something to be said for consistency. Some would call it reliability. For instance, it’s nice to know that the newspaper will be delivered to your house the same time every day or...
