    While there is no Shriners Hospital in Havre, the North Central Montana Shrine Club (NCMSC) is heavily involved in providing free hospital care to children in the area. From Oct. 15 of 1995 to June 8 of 1999, the club wrote 93 checks totaling more than $14,000 to provide transportation costs for children to the hospitals.     Volunteers from the Havre Chapter of Walleyes Unlimited braved the elements Friday to upgrade the Fresno Reservoir boat dock with wave whackers. The plastic, barrel-shaped, wave busters are part of a two-year project to improve the boat dock area at Fresno and make it safer and easier for recreationists to enter and exit their boats. According to Stan Badilla, Hi-Line resource manager for the Bureau of Reclamation, 70 of the white and orange wave whackers will be filled about half full of water and will surround the boat...

    Some students above the average eighth-grade age attended Havre Central Junior High last Friday during the 14th Annual Grandparents' Day at the school. Grandparents from around the country came to celebrate and spend the day with their grandchildren. The event began with coffee, juice and doughnuts served in the social hall.
