  • Hi-Line dancers to perform in San Diego

    A group of Hi-Line girls have been invited to perform at the Holiday Bowl in San Diego in December. Catalina Carlon, the coach for the girls, teaches in both Chester and Havre. "That's going to be pretty fun for the small dance team," Carlon said. The girls going to the bowl are from Havre, Rudyard and Chester, Carlon said. The team performs under the name "Hi-Line Dance."     Kathy Leeds has spent a large part of her life working to help others and, Saturday at the Eagles Club, the community has a chance to give back to her to help raise funds for her recent medical expenses. Kathy was director for 20 years of Quality Life Concepts, an organization which worked to help people with disabilities emphasizing assistance for the very young, from birth to 3 years old.   • Plenty of baseball on tap at Havre Jamboree

    It is still the early stages of the Havre North Stars American Legion baseball schedule, but this weekend brings ample opportunity for local baseball fans to catch a game or two. Friday, Saturday and Sunday the North Stars will host the annual Havre Jamboree at Legion Field in Havre. Action will begin at 2 p.m. Friday, with the final game beginning at 4 p.m. Sunday.   • More weight class changes coming to high school wrestling

    For the second straight school year, the Montana High School Association is changing weight classifications for the upcoming wrestling season. Starting in the 2014-15 season, there will be 13 weight classes in Montana High School Association sanctioned wrestling competition. The change comes just one year after MHSA member schools adopted the National Federation's weight classes with the exception of keeping the 98-pound class for a total of 15 weight divisions.
