  • Graduations run through the COVID-19 pandemic

    Despite the pandemic, it was a busy weekend for graduations including Chinook High School. Sunday night, 21 seniors graduated from Chinook High School . With social distancing still in effect, everyone attending the ceremony was asked to do so from their own cars. Chinook High School Principal Matt Molyneaux said the ceremony wouldn't have happened without the "time and effort from a lot of people in our community."     The number of hospitalizations, including people hospitalized before being tested, was 64 with 4 active hospitalizations. The number of tests completed was 28,167. The number of deaths was 16. The number of recoveries was 434 with 20 active cases. Ravalli County had one new case with a total of 6 cases, and Yellowstone County had one new case with a total of 86 cases.     Willard Joseph Langlois of Havre MT, 97, joined our heavenly father May 14, 2020, after a short stay in the hospital. Willard was born January 18, 1923, to Willie and Clarice (Boisvert) Langlois in Lambert Township near Oaklee, MN. He was one of 14 children. As a youngster he attended rural schools and worked for area farmers. At the age of 17, he enlisted and served 18 months in the Civilian Conservation Corps at Middle River, MN.     The Chippewa Cree tribal council announced Friday that the tribe is implementing a Phase One re-opening plan, and Rocky Boy Health Center has entered Phase One plans for its services, as well.     Havre elementary schools have scheduled slots when students can pick up their belongings this week, starting today. Havre Public Schools Board of Trustees voted this month to continue distanced learning through the end of this year, continuing the directive ordered by Gov. Steve Bullock starting March 15.
