    Filed 5 p.m., Wednesday, July 22 Blaine County Health Department reported this evening it has confirmed one new case of COVID-19. That brings the total in Blaine County to seven, all active cases. The case was identified through tracing contacts of previously confirmed cases.   • This morning, no new COVID cases reported in region

    Although the state is continuing to see a surge in new cases of COVID-19, the local region had at least a one-day reprieve on its surge. No new cases of COVID-19 were reported in this part of Montana Tuesday. Hill County Health Department and Rocky Boy Health Center confirmed they had no new reported Tuesday. Blaine and Chouteau County and Fort Belknap Tribal Health Department did not report any confirmed cases. The state had 104 new cases confirmed, along with two new deaths.     The Great Northern Fair Board met Tuesday and discussed a potential food vending event at the Great Northern Fairgrounds to be put on by the Havre Lions Club in September, as well as other issues.     From MSU News Service BOZEMAN — The Montana State University College of Agriculture and Montana Agriculture Experiment Station will host a series of virtual field day events to replace in-person field days for 2020.     The number of hospitalizations, including people hospitalized before being tested, was 179 with 52 active hospitalizations. The number of tests completed was 143,518 with 2,516 new tests listed this morning. The number of deaths was 42. The number of recoveries was 1,543 and the number of active cases was 52.   • Some groups bemoan loss of specialty license plate revenue

    Specialty license plates, which are sold as fundraising resources for nonprofit groups, reached the end of its extension last Wednesday to try to sell enough to continue the funding source.     HELENA — The Montana Department of Labor and Industry announced that more than 42,000 Unemployment Insurance payments totaling approximately $43M were issued over the week of July 13 through July 17, providing benefits to eligible Montanans.
