    Work on the $11 million upgrade to Havre's wastewater treatment plant is moving forward to an on-time completion. Spud's Grub Hut is being remodeled in the upcoming weeks in the building on 5th Avenue near the high school where Full Throttle used to be.   • Fire takes out hay on moving truck

    A semitractor-trailer had to cut its haul short after the hay bales it was carrying were ignited. Havre Fire Chief Tim Hedges said that after a preliminary investigation, they believe the fire was caused by the exhaust on the semi igniting the top of the bales. Havre Fire Department trucks were dispatched about 4.5 miles west on U.S. Highway 2 at 4:19 p.m. and were there until 3:30 a.m. today making sure the fire was fully extinguished.     Havre’s Public Works Department works well with other departments. It helps other departments where needed and they reciprocate, Deputy Public Works Director Jeff Jensen said Monday night. Just Monday, the department lent a backhoe to the fire department which was fighting a hay fire west of the city.     Havre Trails is gearing up for a full series of lecture walks and hikes this fall. A schedule of events will be released later in the month of August and will tentatively include a hike in the Sweetgrass Hills, a fall foliage photography walk hosted by Steve Helmbrecht, a stargazing walk in the Bear Paw Mountains, a botany walk hosted by Terri Hildebrand and more.     For the first time in five years, the Phillips County Fair hosted a demolition derby and the event, holding nearly 900, was a success.
