  • Local Bowling Report: Eagle Lanes open in Chinook

    October is learn-to-bowl month. So in following suit, Hi-Line Lanes is going to provide lessons for those keglers who would like to learn how to bowl or improve their game. Lessons will be Saturday, Oct. 5 at 1 p.m. Anyone wishing to participate may sign up at the lanes or call 254-5885 and leave their name. There will be no charge for these lessons.   • Skylights keep climbing

    After a huge weekend of road wins, the Montana State University-Northern volleyball team continues to climb in the national rankings. The Skylights (3-0, 12-4), garnered 78 votes in this week’s NAIA Volleyball Coaches Poll, which was released Tuesday afternoon. Last week, Northern had 14 votes. The big jump by the Skylights comes on the heels of MSU-N’s three-set sweep over then No. 24 Rocky Mountain College last Thursday night in Billings.     The sister of a man whose dead body was found in Idaho Sept. 8 said her family has not been told much of what is happening, and is mystified as to why someone would want to kill her brother. “It makes it harder when there are so many unanswered questions … ,” Carmen Baker of Havre said this morning. “It’s just all a big confusion to everybody.     The Ultimate Warrior Challenge will test the stamina and aim of athletes Thursday. Rocky Boy is inviting teams from all of Montana’s tribes and nonnatives to participate in a grueling competition.
