    Genevieve “Genny” Haugen, 86, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015, at her residence of natural causes. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2015, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, with Pastor Mark Schultz officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery.     The union representing Havre firefighters is filing for arbitration with the city of Havre over a controversial written reprimand given to firefighter D.J. Olsen. In a brief statement issued this morning, the union said its representatives had met with the city attorney and begun the process of picking an arbitrator. The state Labor Department supplies a list of the potential arbitrators and the two sides take turns eliminating them one by one until all but one is eliminated.     Sampson Mayer was sentenced Monday to charges of assault on a peace officer and ordered to reimburse medical costs worth $19,984.92. In March 2015, someone called the police to report someone was trying to “get him” at the Rails Inn Hotel, according to court documents.     Havre Daily News The union representing Hill County Sheriff’s deputies and dispatchers has voted down a county proposal for a pay hike. The county proposed a 2 percent base pay increase, which comes to about 24 cents an hour, said union representative Darcy Dahle. With changes proposed in the health insurance coverage, the union members are taking a pretty big pay cut, Dahle said. She said they are looking for a mediator to bring the two sides closer together.
