Justice Lawrence Brown, 17, of Havre pleaded not guilty to three counts of attempted deliberate homicide and one count of attempted burglary Wednesday morning. Brown had his arraignment in Hill County Judicial District court at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. A transfer and omnibus hearing is scheduled for June 29, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. Brown's council said they will request to have the Defendant transported to Havre for the hearing. The H. Earl Clack Memorial Museum Board heard updates Monday concerning summer hours and Living History plans, and a board member resigned from his position. Judi Dritshulas, board president, said the Clack Museum summer hours are Monday through Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. "Most of our visitors come in the afternoon or late afternoon," she said. The Havre Pride Celebration ceremony May 4 recognized employees of the district for outstanding work in the Havre Public Schools. The 2015 Havre Public Schools teacher of the year is David Johnke, the band teacher at Havre High School. The 2015 classified employee of the year is Melony Steckel, a bus driver for the district. Each year, employees are nominated by their peers and then voted on. Classified employees vote for classified nominees and teachers vote for teachers....
Havre Trails met Monday to discuss the successes of their 5K Walk/Run and talk about future projects. Erin Bradshaw, the treasurer of the group, said the event drew more than 100 community members out to the Bill Baltrusch Nature Trail to participate in the event and, all told, it raised more than $1,000 for the group’s community projects, after the overhead was paid. Denise "Niecee" "Meemaw" Anne Conner Ostwald-Baune, age 46, died April 29, 2015, at 8:30 a.m. in her residence at Pompeys Pillar, Montana, of a massive heart attack. Denise was born July 18, 1968, in Helena, Montana, and was adopted to Max and Alice Conner on August 19, 1968. Denise graduated from Havre High School in 1986. For many, golf season is just getting started. For others, this week is the culmination. That is the case for the 2015 Chinook High School golf team. A handful of Sugarbeeters are playing today and Wednesday in the Class C state tournament in Shelby. The tournament is being played at the Marias Valley Golf Club in Shelby. Tylynn Rettig, North Star Track North Star senior Tylynn Rettig has done a lot of special things in her track and field career. But she saved some of her best for her last District 9C meet. Last Wednesday in Havre, Rettig won four events and finished second in another. She swept the 100 and 200 meters, and also won the pole vault and long jump. Lights Football Camp New MSU-Northern head football coach Aaron Christensen will be holding a three-day youth camp June 8-10.
