Eleanor Alcock, 82, died Saturday, March 2, 2002, at a Havre hospital of natural causes.

Funeral services will be Thursday at the Concordia Lutheran Church in Crosby, N.D., with burial in the Concordia Lutheran Church cemetery.

Eleanor was born Nov. 14, 1919, in Crosby, N.D., to Edwin and Elsie (Haugen) Peterson. She was raised around Crosby, N.D. She attended

the Hawkeye School in rural Crosby and graduated from the Hawkeye High School. While living in Crosby, she met John Alcock and the couple was married on Aug. 24,1944, in Plentywood, a popular wedding spot close to Crosby. To this union six children were born.

In 1964 the couple moved to Havre due to John's employment. Eleanor took a position as a nurses aide at The Home of the Good Shepherd. After he retired in 1977, the couple moved to Thermopolis, Wyo., where she worked at a care facility. John passed away in 1978. In 1981, Eleanor moved to Eulis, Texas, and again worked as a nurses aide. After her retirement in 1994, she returned to Havre.

Eleanor enjoyed camping, picnicking and her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Alcock in 1978; brothers, Lloyd and Earnest Peterson; children, Bonnie Alcock and Keith Alcock.

Survivors include her daughters, Orlynn Dannels and Sharon Fite, both of Fountain, Colo.; sons, Jerry Alcock of Mount Juliet, Tenn., Lowell Alcock of Havre; brothers, Archie Peterson, Signor Peterson, Sigard Peterson and Kermit Peterson, all of Crosby, N.D.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorials in Eleanor's honor may be made to the Northern Montana Care Center, 24 W. 13th St., Havre, MT 59501.

Arrangements are under the direction of Holland and Bonine Funeral Home in Havre and Stakston - Martin Funeral Home in Crosby, N.D.
