Farmers Union bringing consumer message here

The Montana Farmers Union will travel to Havre for its next consumer awareness event. On Wednesday MFU staffers will be joined by area ag producers, legislators and county commissioners to bag groceries at Gary and Leo's IGA in Havre from 3 to 5:30 p.m.

The MFU consumer awareness program was developed to reach out to consumers on a grass-roots level and improve communication between consumers and agriculture producers. "By bringing our message to local grocery stores, we get a chance to talk with shoppers, and we, in turn, can share what it's like to be a farmer or rancher and talk about issues that are important to us," said Del Styren, president of MFU.
