Havre girl picked for scholarship

Members of Soroptimist International of Havre have announced the recipient of a $1,000 scholarship to Montana State University-Northern provided by Tillie S. Patterson.

Lisa Larson, daughter of Larry and Theresa Larson, received the award for her interest in community service. She plans to attend MSU-Nand receive a teaching degree.

Larson has been active in community service work during her high school years. She has been active in the Hill County 4-H program, has been president of her club the past three years and is a senior leader. She will be the head counselor at the 2002 camp after her graduation from Havre High School.

She has participated in the Adopt a Highway Program, one of the projects Havre Soroptimist has been involved with. She had helped with decorating the care center for holidays.

After college Larson would like to teach either in Havre or another small community in Montana.
