SHIRLEY DELAURENTI

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. Shirley Delaurenti died Friday, Feb. 22, 2002, of cancer.

A memorial service was held Feb. 26.

Delaurenti was born to Dan and Sophia (Rye) Heltne. She attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn., and graduated with a bachelor's degree from Montana State University in Bozeman.

She married Louis Delaurenti in Havre and they began their married life in Billings. They later moved to Eugene, Ore., where she worked for the University of Oregon and later for the federal government.

Shirley was a member of Central Lutheran Church. Her interests included music, hiking and reading. She was an accomplished organist and was a church organist for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a daughter, Barbara Benton.

Survivors include her daughters, Jane Daniel of Springfield and Nancy MacKay of Aurora, Colo.; son, Robert Delaurenti of Beaverton, Ore.; brother, Doug Heltne of Havre; seven grandchildren.
