GLENN PETERSON, Obituary

Glenn Eugene Peterson, 75, a retired railroad employee from Gildford, died Sunday, March 17, 2002, at a Havre hospital of natural causes.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. at the Gildford Baptist Church with Pastor Eddie Fallow officiating. Private family burial of cremated remains will be held at a later date. Fellowship luncheon is to follow memorial service at the church.

Glenn was born on Nov. 19, 1926, to Rudolph and Lulu (Diggs) Peterson at New Winsor, Ill. He was educated in New Winsor. At the age of 17, he began working for the Great Northern Railroad. One year

later, he joined the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Intrepid. Glenn served his country during World War II and was honorably discharged in August 1946. He resumed his career with the railroad as a Signal Maintainer. In 1957, Glenn moved to Gildford with the railroad.

In 1956, he met and married Esther (Meeder) Bengtson. They made their home in Gildford and raised three children. Glenn enjoyed fishing and hunting, and was extremely proud of the elk he and his John brought home during their last hunting trip together. Before losing his eyesight, he liked to spend time tinkering in his shop.

His parents and his sisters Gladys and Elsie preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Esther of Havre; sons, John Peterson of Kremlin, Kraig Peterson of Havre; daughter, Judi (Jim) Kase of Havre; sisters, Judy (Schuie) Schuhart of Seattle, Wash., Lois Hoffman of Mitchell, S.D.; sister-in-law, Helen Lemmons of Libby; two granddaughters; various nieces and nephews.

Services and arrangements are under the direction of the Holland and Bonine Funeral Home.
