McPherson signs with UGF

Jayla McPherson, a three-sport standout for Havre High, has signed a letter of intent to play basketball for the University of Great Falls next season, head coach Scott Patera announced Monday.

McPherson is a 5-foot-11 forward who averaged 13 points and nine rebounds in her senior season for the Ponies. McPherson was also named to the Class A All-Conference team and earned first team All-State honors.

"Jayla is a very strong post player, who is very competitive, a strong rebounder and fundamentally sound," Patera said in a press release. "She has a great attitude and work ethic, we expect she will be able to help the team right away as a freshman."
