MALCOLM MITCHELL, Obituary

POLSON Malcolm "Chuck" Mitchell, 63, of Polson died on Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at a Polson care center from natural causes.

Visitation will be held at the Grogan Funeral Home today until 2 p.m. with a closing ceremony at 2 p.m. with Patrick Pierre officiating. Cremation will follow services.

Malcolm was born in Havre to Malcolm G. and Caroline (Whitford) Mitchell on July 16, 1938. He was raised on Rocky Boy's Reservation, where he attended high school and played basketball. After high school he worked as a miner at the Flathead Lumber Co. and for the Plum Creek Lumber in Pablo. He retired from Plum Creek Lumber after 23 years.

Malcolm married Anna Pierre in Polson 38 years ago. He enjoyed shooting pool, visiting with friends, and listening to country, bluegrass and Scottish music.

Malcolm was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dave and Paul Mitchell; sisters, Virginia LaMere, Sophie Meyers and Eunice Sanchez.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Mitchell of Polson; his children, William, Charley, Brian, Patsy, Malcolm David, Sheila, Annie, Miles, Georgi, Lisa, Tommie Sue; sisters, Martha Lewis, Lydia Sutherland and Caroline Boushie; several grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are by Grogan Funeral Home in Polson.
