MARGARET FLASKERUD, Obituary

Margaret Agnes Flaskerud, 89, Havre, died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at a Havre care center of natural causes.

Margaret was born in Kalispell to Peter and Minnie DeGroot on July 30, 1912. She attended grade school in Olney and graduated from Flathead County High School.

Margaret married Gilbert Flaskerud on Feb. 10, 1932. They farmed and ranched in the Hogeland area until they moved to Havre in 1951.

Margaret was active in the Hogeland Lutheran Church, served as clerk of the Hogeland School District, was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and was a 4-H leader. In Havre she belonged to the Messiah Lutheran Church, League of Women Voters, Home Demonstration Club and Sons of Norway.

Margaret and Gilbert spent the winters in Arizona until his death in April 1969. In 1972 Margaret became a permanent resident of Leisure World in Mesa, Ariz., for 27 years. She enjoyed traveling, playing bridge and being outdoors.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gilbert Flaskerud; sister, Ruth Mortensen.

Survivors include her daughters, Bernice Holm of Marietta, Ga., Myrtle Bosch and Donna Kooch, both of Havre; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church or to a person's choice.

Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home in Chinook.
