Payne named to all-academic team

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. Loree Payne of the University of Washington has been named to the Pac-10 women's basketball all-academic team.

Payne, a junior co-captain from Havre, Mont., is a psychology student who led Washington in scoring at 14.3 points per game. Payne carries a 3.68 grade-point average.

UW sophomore Andrea Lalum of Joplin, Mont. was named to the second team. Lalum moved from Joplin to Bozeman, Mont. before going to UW.

To be eligible for selection, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be either a starter of significant contributor.
