Glasgows Morehouse signs with Lights football

Montana State University-Northern football coach Walt Currie announced Wednesday the signing of four more football players to play for the Lights in the fall.

Quarterback Neill Crandell of Scobey High School gives Northern added depth on offense. Crandell, at 6 foot 3, 185 pounds, earned first team all state honors, first team all conference honors and was named to the academic all state team for quarterbacks as a senior.

"Neill is a smart, outstanding athlete and we feel he will become a great Frontier Conference player," Coach Currie said.

Also from Scobey High School is Neal Levang. Levang is a 6-foot-1, 220-pound tight end. Levang also earned first team all state honors, first team all conference honors and was named to the academic all state team as a tight end/defensive end.

"Neal has the size, ball- catching ability and mobility for what we are looking for at our tight end position," Currie said.

Defensive lineman Seth Morehouse from Glasgow has also signed to play football for the Lights come fall. Morehouse, at 6 foot 1, 265 pounds, is an all-around athlete who earned all conference and all state honors as a defensive tackle, was the Most Valuable Player for baseball, state champion wrestler at heavyweight in 2001, state runnerup in 2000 and third in the state in 2002.

"Seth is a great athlete with size and quickness to be an outstanding player in the frontier conference," Currie said.

Currie's final signee is Coel Stutheit from Regis High School in Sublimity, Ore. Stutheit is a 5-foot-11, 180-pound linebacker, who earned first team all conference honors as a linebacker in 2001 and was named player of the game eight times. He was also named most inspirational player of the year.

"Coel has a great work ethic and we feel he is going to make an excellent college outside linebacker," Currie said.

Spring football starts this week for the Lights.
