MATILDA MOE, Obituary

CHINOOK Matilda Moe, 90, died peacefully, but triumphantly, into eternal life on April 2, 2002 at a Havre care center due to natural causes.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the American Lutheran Church with burial following in the Alice Nash Memorial Cemetery on the Lone Tree Bench.

Matilda was born in Roslyn, Wash., to Izador and Elizabeth (Suza) Magda on March 5, 1912. Her family moved to Raglan Bench when she was 5 years old.

Matilda married Ole Moe on Nov. 14, 1933. They farmed south of Warrick until 1939, when they moved to a farm south of Zurich.

Matilda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ole Moe; brothers Frank, Ed, Gerald and Richard Magda.

Survivors include her sons, Ed (Marge) Moe of Libby and Melvin (Kathy) Moe of Pocatello, Idaho; daughters, Julia (Robert) Briese of Post Falls, Idaho, and Bonnie (Ted) Fokken of Minneapolis, Minn.; sisters, Helen Bleha and Francis McGillivray, both of Chinook; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the American Lutheran Church, Gift of Life Housing in Great Falls, or the American Heart Association.

Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home in Chinook.
