ALICE RANDA, Obituary

ROCKY BOY Alice (Courchane) Randa, 74, former Rocky Boy School baker, died Monday, April 15, 2002, at a Great Falls Hospital of natural causes.

Wake began Tuesday afternoon at the Rocky Boy Senior Center and continued at 7 a.m. today at the Rocky Boy Catholic Church.

Funeral service is 11 a.m. Thursday at the Rocky Boy Catholic Church with Fr. Pete Guthneck officiating. Burial is to follow at the Courchane Family Cemetery.

Alice was born April 10, 1928 to William Courchane and Melanie "Minnie" (Houle) Courchane-Gardipee at Rocky Boy. She attended schools at Box Elder. Alice was the head baker at the Rocky Boy Schools from the mid 1960s to the mid 1970s.

In the mid 1950s, Alice married Jim Potter, to this union, four children were born. The couple later divorced.

In the mid 1960s, Alice married Ray Randa, to this union, one child was born. The couple later divorced.

Alice's hobbies included baking, entertaining her family, especially her grandchildren, long walks, window shopping, fishing, and camping.

She was preceded by her parents, William Courchane and Minnie (Houle) Courchane-Gardipee; husband, Ray Randa; sister, Rose Courchane Wells.

Survivors include her brothers, Samuel "Sammie" Courchane Sr. of Rocky Boy; sisters, Catherine Carlson of Rocky Boy, Mary Ann Dustrude of Washington state; sons, Harvey James Potter and Charles Allen Potter, both of Seattle; daughters, Denise Clark of Federal Way, Wash., Lois Johnson of Billings, Cindy Randa of Great Falls; 17 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and life-long friends.

Services and arrangements are under the direction of the Holland and Bonine Funeral Home.
