U.S. 2 project near Lothair begins

Schellinger Construction Co. Inc. has started work on 13.5 miles of the Lothair-East project on U.S. Highway 2. The project begins at mile 308 and extends to mile 321.4.

Motorists are asked to use caution when traveling through the construction area and to follow signs and flaggers. Every attempt will be made to maintain two-way traffic, although one-way traffic will be needed at times.

Delays to the traveling public will be kept to a minimum.

The $9 million contract consists of grading, aggregate surfacing, plant mix bituminous surfacing, and seal and cover of a 40-foot-wide finished surface....
