Link ties for third at Westminster

The Montana State University-Northern Skylights were back on the golf course Monday and Tuesday at the Westminster College Invitational in Salt Lake City.

The Skylights finished in fifth place after the two-day event with a team score of 1,125. Rocky Mountain College won the tournament with a 1,000 followed by CSU-Monterey Bay (1,034), Lewis-Clark College (1,051) and Montana-Western (1,104).

Northern's Kaycee Link finished tied for 11th place with Rocky's Amber Griffith. Link had scores of 89, 82, 89 for a total of 260. Close behind Link was Toni Bickford in 13th place. Bickford shot an 85, 86 and a 90 for a total of 261.

Theresa Newman added a 24th-place finish for the Skylights with Ristina Johnston finishing tied for 29th. Newman shot a 93, 96 and a 103 for a 292. Johnston had a 107, 98 and a 107 for a total of 312.

Rocky's Ashley Griffith won the individual crown with a 242 followed by CSU-Monterey Bay's Monique Dodson with a 246.

The Skylights' next tournament is May 6-7 at the Frontier Regional.
