Havre tennis treks to Great Falls

The Havre High tennis team takes to the courts in Great Falls today and Saturday for a two-day tournament.

The tournament is another Class AA tournament for the Ponies. Teams in the Havre pool include CMR, Billings West, Billings Senior and Bozeman.

Due to the cold weather, the tennis team did not have much time to practice outside this week. Because of this, the teams were still holding challenge matches Thursday night to decide the final spots for the trip.

"If both teams play well, we should have a good dual-meet record," Havre coach Sam Dierman said. "However, if either team doesn't play their best, we are in trouble. It is very tough competition. It will be exciting to see how we do."

The Ponies left early this morning for Great Falls and will return tonight after play is completed. They will return again Saturday morning to wrap up the tournament.
