Boys golfers second in shortened tourney


The Havre boys golf team was just starting to make a run for first place Saturday morning at the Great Falls Invitational Golf Tournament when snow forced the cancelation of the event.

Scores from the first day were the only ones that counted.

"We had a great start to the second day," Havre coach Keith Evenson said, noting he had two boys who started the day 1-under par.

Havre senior Troy Toner shot a 75 Friday and won a tiebreaker to take fifth place. Senior teammate Nick Obie also shot a 75 to finish right behind Toner. Jason Johnstone followed Toner and Obie with a 78. Kevin Harada was n...
