Lights finish spring season

In front of a decent-sized crowd, the Montana State University-Northern Lights wrapped up their spring season Wednesday night with their final scrimmage.

Although the Lights were missing several players due to injury, head coach Walt Currie said, the scrimmage still was a success.

"The younger kids got lots of turns," Currie said. "They got to play a lot and got the chance to get better."

Junior Brandon Kerkes and freshman Nick Arnold each saw extended time at quarterback.

The Lights will start back up Aug. 18 in preparation for the fall season. Northern's first game is Sept. 7 at Dickinson. The Lights' first home game will be Sept. 21 against Montana Tech.
