Man accused of statutory rape

The Hill County Attorney's Office this week charged an 18-year-old Box Elder man with statutory rape of an adolescent girl in a Havre hotel on Friday, court documents said.

Clint Soosay was charged on Monday with sexual intercourse without consent after Havre police found him in a hotel room with an intoxicated 14-year-old Box Elder girl, according to a criminal complaint filed in District Court.

The girl told authorities she consented to having intercourse with Soosay, but according to Montana law, juveniles under the age of 16 cannot legally provide consent.
