Lights add Johnston to program

The Montana State University-Northern Lights have added Glasgow's Mark Johnston to their fall roster.

At 125 pounds, Johnston was a two-time state champion and a runner-up his sophomore year. He went undefeated his senior year at 42-0 with 38 pins for the Scotties. As a junior, Johnston compiled a 39-1 record with 21 pins. His sophomore year, Johnston was 32-5 with 17 pins and as a freshman, he went 14-10 with nine pins.

On April 5-7, Johnston competed at the High School Senior Nationals Tournament in Cleveland, Ohio and placed second.

"He's tough. He loves the sport," Lights coach David Ray said. "He loves wrestling and loves to work out. He brings an intensity to practice and such a positive attitude that will rub off on his teammates. He's always positive. He represents everything positive for us at Northern."

Johnston will redshirt for the Lights this fall, Ray said.
