NAOMI CURRY, Obituary

Naomi Jane Curry, 86, died Thursday, May 9, 2002, at a Havre care center of natural causes.

Memorial services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church in Havre.

Naomi was born in Reynolds-ville, Pa., to Richard and Zera (Wiley) Mahaffey on

March 13, 1916. She was raised there and graduated from Reynoldsville High School.

Naomi married John Dinger in 1936 at Oil City, Pa., and later Merle Curry in Buffalo, N.Y. in 1945.

As a young woman Naomi played the organ and piano in her church. She loved music, dancing and had a very good sense of humor. She made beautiful sweaters for her children and grandchildren. Until the last few years, she made latch hook rugs.

She enjoyed traveling, flying and was always at family gatherings. Her hobby was collecting penguins, of which she had accumulated a large collection.

Naomi moved from Buffalo, N.Y., to San Diego in 1974 and then to Havre in 1982 to be close to her daughter.

Naomi was preceded in death by both husbands.

Survivors include her daughter, Leanore Lembke of Havre; sons, Merle Curry Jr. of Venice, Fla. and Wilson Curry of East Aurora, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Havre.

Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook.
