RUSSELL JOHNSON, Obituary

Russell L. Johnson, 61, died Saturday, May 11, 2002, at his home near Columbia Falls.

There will be a celebration of life ceremony Aug. 3, 2002, at 10 a.m. at the Denton Community Methodist Church in Denton for Russell and Anna Johnson.

Russ was born Jan. 7, 1941, in Wolf Point to Edmond and Lillian Johnson. He attended school in Glasgow.

Russ was married to Anna L. Trent on July 29, 1961, in Pierre, S.D. They lived in Glasgow, until moving to Columbia Falls in 1976.

He worked as a brakeman and conductor for the Great Northern, Burlington Northern, and the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway for 45 years.

Russ was an avid sportsman and outdoorsman.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edmond on Feb. 20, 1987, and his wife, Anna on Sept. 3, 2001.

Russ is survived by two sons, Edmund W. Johnson of Columbia Falls and Wes B. Johnson of Big Timber; two grandsons; his mother, Lillian Johnson of Billings; sisters, Karen Six of Billings, Dorothy Ann Behling of Great Falls, Fern Lynette Osler and her husband Loren of Lavina; brother, Archie Johnson and his wife Elsie of Cody, Wyo.; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

The family has suggested that memorials be made to the Denton Community Methodist Church in Denton.
