HMS vocalists get down to show business tonight

Curtain goes up at 7 p.m. in the Havre High School auditorium; show tunes featured

Songs from Broadway musicals will be featured at the spring Havre Middle School choir concert today at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium.

The title of the program is "There's No Business Like Show Business." The audience will hear songs like "Seventy-Six Trombones" from "The Music Man," "Consider Yourself at Home" from "Oliver," "My Favorite Things" from "The Sound of Music," "We're Off to See the Wizard" from "The Wizard of Oz, "Maria" from "West Side Story," "Gold Fever" from "Paint Your Wagon," and more.

The sixth-grade choir will perform songs from "The Music Man." Dan Pizzini will play the main character, professor Harold Hill, who starts a band in a small town in Iowa.

A combination of seventh- and eighth-grade choir students will perform songs from "Oliver." Jesse Lee will play the lead role of Oliver, a young orphan boy in England who goes to London to seek his fortune and gets in with a band of pickpockets.

The eighth-grade choir will perform songs from "The Sound of Music." Several girls Betsy Lee, Talia Malone and Heather Sienkowski will play the lead character, a young woman who becomes the governess of the seven von Trapp children and teaches them to sing.

The Troubadours, the seventh-grade boys select ensemble, will perform songs from "Paint Your Wagon," a musical about miners during the California Gold Rush.

The Treble-Aires, the seventh- and eighth-grade girls select ensemble, will perform songs from "The Wizard of Oz." Christina Armstrong will play Dorothy, Jesine Munson is the Scarecrow, Sandi Bitterman is the Tinman, and Allyssa Woodwick is the Lion.

The Spotlighters, the eighth-grade select ensemble, will perform songs from "West Side Story," a musical about two rival street gangs in New York City. Keelie Solomon and Michael Cook will play the lead characters.

Many middle school students will be featured in solos, duets and small groups throughout the evening's performance.

The public is welcome to attend. There is no admission fee.
