Sutters sweep cartridge shoot

The Hill County Shooting Range was the site Saturday for 20 shooters, who participated in the first blackpowder cartride silhouette shoot sponsored by the Bullhook Bottoms Black Powder Club.

Yancy Sutter, of Livingston, hit 16 of 20 to take first place. Havre's Sandy Suter hit 13 for second place and Kynan Sutter, also of Livingston, picked up 10 hits for third. Glasgow's Mike Otterberg nailed eight hits for fourth place with Chester's Scott Ross in fifth with seven hits.

The match was a 20-shot event with targets at 200, 300, 400 and 500 yards. The 200-yard chickens were shot offhand while the three longest targets pigs, turkeys and rams could be shot in any position. This is the first such event of this type held by the blackpowder club, a press release said.

The next event for the Black Powder Club will be the 23rd annual Spring Shoot to be held at Fort Assiniboine May 25-27.
