DONALEE HUTTON, Obituary

CHINOOK Donalee Hutton, 70, died Friday, May 17, 2002, in Billings due to complications of cancer.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Lutheran Church in Chinook. A reception will be held at the Chinook Eagles following the service.

Hutton was born July 7, 1931, to Jim and Kate Barber of Lloyd. She attended school in Lloyd until eighth grade, then went to high school in Chinook. She graduated in 1948. She attended college at MSU-Bozeman for two years in the nursing program.

She married Gerald Hutton in 1950 and went from being a rancher's daughter to being a farmer's wife. They lived in Turner. She returned to nursing school at MSU-Northern in Havre and graduated as a registered nurse.

Donalee and Gerald moved to Chinook, where Donalee worked as an RN in home health, county health and at the Havre hospital.

Donalee belonged to the Eagles Auxiliary, VFW, Quilting Guild, Sweet Memorial Nursing Home board, volunteered countless hours for the Blaine County Food Pantry, and was active in the Lutheran Church.

She enjoyed her family and friends, was an avid quilter and a green-thumb gardener. She enjoyed attending jazz festivals, traveling with friends, and loving her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Hutton in 1989.

Survivors include her children, Annita Hutton of Chinook, Jerry Lee Hutton of Park City, Jim Hutton of Grand Junction, Colo., and Mary Ann Winkler of Billings; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Blaine County Food Pantry or Sweet Memorial Nursing Home.
