Comets score 26 in Glasgow

The Havre Comets scored 26 runs in two games at Glasgow on Sunday, but came away with only one win.

The Comets won one game 13-5 and lost the other 14-13.

The Comets were led by Ricky Houim's 3-for-4 game with a triple and one RBI in the win. Levi Briese doubled and drove in two runs with a 2-for-3 game and Tony Christian went 3-for-5 with a double. Ben Mader and Brandon Morse each went 2-for-4. Morse tripled and drove in two while Mader drove in one.

The Comets had 12 hits in the game, including eight singles.

Chazz Hurlburt pitched five strong innings for the win. Bret Magelssen came on and pitched the final two innings in relief. Hurlburt gave up nine hits and four earned runs. He struck out eight.

In the loss, Havre belted out 18 hits 12 singles. Coda Tchida led with a 3-for-4 game, followed by Briese, who had three doubles in a 3-for-5 game. Hurlburt also had a 3-for-5 game and drove in seven runs. Chris Chandler added a 2-for-4 game.

Mader started the game for Havre and pitched four innings. He gave up nine runs seven earned and struck out four. Morse picked up the loss, giving up five runs four earned in three innings. Morse also struck out four.

The Comets' next game is Wednesday night at Legion Field against the Northstars. The game begins a 7:30 and will go a full nine innings.
