Water conservation in the city of Havre

The city of Havre instituted water conservation measures to make sure the city's neighbors farther down the Milk River have sufficient water for the summer.

Here are the rules to remember about watering in Havre:

Outdoor water use, defined by the city as lawn and garden watering, noncommercial car washing and filling swimming pools, is restricted to evenings and mornings only, with watering allowed on alternate days depending on the address of a home.

Houses on the even-numbered side of the street can use water outdoors on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, starting at 8 p.m. and running through 10 a.m. the following morning.

Houses on the odd-numbered side of the street can water on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays between the hours of 8 p.m and 10 a.m. the following morning.

No watering at all is allowed between Monday at 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
