Tuesday's snowstorm has kept a CBS news team from coming to Havre, but it may have shown the necessity for Amtrak in the state, Amtrak supporters say.
A news team that came to Montana to interview people about the possibility of losing the Empire Builder was stranded in Cut Bank Wednesday because the roads were closed due to the storm.
"The weather cooperated to make the point. They're stranded and the Empire Builder is still chugging along," Jerry Smith of Galata said Wednesday.
Smith said today that because of the delay, the news team will not come to Havre.
Havre Mayor Bob Rice had planned a rally to meet the news team, but said today that he was trying to let people know it had been cancelled.
